Purple Paisley Person

As the end of my Thanksgiving break comes along, I find myself digging for more and more outfits to wear to my family parties. It always seems to me that a nice sweater always feels fitting for the holiday season! For this look, I wanted to add a nice loud print and bright shoes to really make this gray sweater stand out.
Since this particular holiday get together was semi-formal, I wanted to wear a paisley button down I snagged from J. Crew Outlet (on sale) and this soft gray Gap sweater to wear over to keep it casual and just to layer up for warmth. Just because it was warmer in the East Bay than in San Francisco, I decided to roll up my sleeves so that the print on the shirt would be able to show a bit more. In any occasion, a ultra-black skinny jean (from H&M) are my go-to pant. It's comfy, casual, and chic! I love this look for any family dinner or even a nice lunch date!
To really polish up the outfit, a pair of bright purple heels! I'm not entirely sure as to why I love wearing purple things- it just always seems to be the perfect pop of color! These heels from Dolce Vita (from Last Call! Neiman Marcus) are sure to make you stand out at any occasion. This statement necklace is from Macy's and I loved that the gray tone with the silver of the necklace. It really put me in the holiday mood because it jingled whenever I walked! :)
*Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and a successful Black Friday! <3

Black Glitter

It is finally Thanksgiving break which means I'm home and so are all my best friends from high school. It's always an amazing time to catch up with old friends and it seems that every time we meet up, our lives have changed drastically. So for tonight's Ladies Night Out, I wanted to go a bit more dressy since we were doing a nice dinner. For some reason, I always go for all black on these occasions!
This black Brandy Melville dress has a very slight velvet feel but isn't exactly velvet. It is a soft cotton material and with a very feminine shape that shows off your waistline. I hesitated with outerwear and ended up grabbing this cotton moto jacket from Charlotte Russe. With these glitter polka dott tights from J. Crew Outlet, they definitely gave the outfit the warm holiday feel.  Knowing me, I need some type of bright color or sparkles to stand out ;)
As for my feet, it is getting quite cold in the East Bay so what better way to keep toasty than a pair of socks from Target? There is definitely room for a pop of color in this all black look for a pair of hot pink feet warmers! Slip on a pair of heels (also Charlotte Russe) and you're good to go! Love this look for a girls night out (like me tonight) or any fancy night out!

Velvety Goodness

So soft...perfect for the holiday season...what is it you ask? Why, of course it's velvet! I never would have thought velvet would make a comeback but hey, everything is about texture this season so why not! I'm slowly transitioning to winter wear and boy, am I excited! Winter is approaching quickly which means it's time to bundle up! With the start of Thanksgiving break this week, I wanted to post up an outfit that could be worn for a dinner party or an afternoon tea event!
I created this look around this American Apparel velvet skirt, I wanted to make it something different and not just pair it with a crop top or a t-shirt (though of course that's totally cute too). This button up from Abercrombie and Fitch has been sitting in my closet, untouched since last year and I thought it was time for its debut. Straying away from the typical lumberjack reds, this shirt had bright squares of green and blue in it to really contrast the skirt. Of course, what better way to pair a plaid shirt than with a denim jacket? This jacket from Lucky Brand has been featured before and it's definitely a closet favorite (my ultimate go-to jacket this Fall).
I've never been much of an accessories person, but I always try to add a little somethin' somethin' to my outfits whether it's earrings, necklace, or in this case- a belt! The belt is from Hollister&Co (on clearance!) and actually has silver zipper detailing & a double loop for a cute Western touch. These dark blue socks are actually thigh high socks (essentially you can pull them up so high they look like stockings) I just wanted them to appear as thigh highs so I tucked them in. It appears as though there are pulls in these Target socks which made them look super cool and vintage-y with the velvet texture! These brown booties (also featured before here) are from ShoeDazzle and I've been obsessed with these (& these black ones from Charlotte Russe here) since I've gotten them. They are comfortable, cozy, and my favorite shoes for Winter thus far.

Mickey Mouse x F21

If I could, I would have Disney everything. Truthfully, the mere thought of going to Disneyland brings me to squeal like a little girl. I love the stories, the atmosphere, the characters- it's just so all magical to me :)
Naturally, when I saw that Forever 21 had a Disney collection, I HAD to have just one or two (or five..) pieces. This one that I'm wearing here is actually reversible (they had a blue one too)! That definitely caught my attention. How many reversible sweaters can you find nowadays? I wanted to roll up the sleeves to showcase that the inside had a quirky cartoon print and an even more awesome thing about this sweater is that it is SO soft and warm- feels like a pillow/comforter. I was feeling extra 80's this particular morning and went with these Forever 21 stretchy denim pants (on clearance $3.99!) with leather and side zipper detailing by the ankle
Finished the look off with some platform pleather heels by Jessica Simpson from Nordstrom Rack, Ray-Ban original Wayfarers, and a super messy high ponytail and I am ready to storm the world: calm, cool, collected.

Red & Blue Chevron!

As November rolls to an end and Winter really comes along(get ready for the fog San Franciscans!), I'm hurrying to enjoy the remaining sunny days we get here in San Francisco. Luckily on this beautiful day in SF, Ryan Chua (le photographer) and I caught a break! This is look #2 for Charlotte Russe; I absolutely love wearing stripes so naturally, I very much enjoy chevron patterns too! It just goes so well with everything. The pattern looks like a zigzag to create definition and and really attracts the eyes to focus on the piece. Add any chevron item to your outfit to make any outfit stand out from the crowd ;)
This Charlotte Russe dress is super soft at an amazing price point. The quarter sleeve and cotton blend is just right for the San Francisco weather- it definitely kept me warm while wandering the streets of SF :) My favorite stand-out color to wear is red (it's just so bold & sexy!) and since it's nearing the end of Fall, this deep red & dark blue chevron is a great contrast!
The shoes. These amazing shoes! Gladiator styles or any shoe with excessive laces or straps are made for me- I can't resist them! I loved these peep toe lace-up heels, it was the perfect partner for this piece. To complete the look for this dress- gold and black accessories were the way to go! To keep the color palette simple for the loud dress, I went with a gold and black plated statement necklace and a gold & black bangles set (all from Charlotte Russe).

Such a comfortable dress!

So soft :)

Capes & Superheroes!

Capes are all the rage this season- I'm seeing them everywhere i go! Speaking of which, did you guys go see hear about the Make-A-Wish Foundation & their Batman adventures? This was such an inspiration and since I couldn't go, I decided to cape up today so I'm there in spirit! Who doesn't want to feel like a superhero nowadays ;) I love how they're able to make any outfit stand out and for me, the piece also makes me imagine I'm a classy lady from Britain (does it make anyone else feel like way?)
Since this Forever 21 cape (on sale!) was a textured beautiful, dark navy blue, I wanted to bring in a pop of color to brighten up this outfit since it was a gloomy San Francisco morning. This wool magenta mini from J.Crew was  perfect for the weather and the perfect color to offset the navy. Underneath (the stripes peeking through my cape) I wanted to keep warm so a turtleneck was the way to go! This striped one is also from J.Crew last season (what can I say, I'm a fan haha)
From the bottom up, I went with these Charlotte Russe wedges and some sheer stockings to keep it simple. This classic Louis Vuitton purse here is actually my mom's that I permanently borrowed a while ago (haha). I really wanted all the focus to be on the cape and I typically finish all my looks which some type of heel whenever I'm wearing a skirt or a dress to elongate the legs (trust me, it really works!) :)

Here is the finished look! Excuse the bad lighting, it was a dark morning :(

Lacey Blues

It was a perfect Saturday afternoon in San Francisco. The weather was ideal for a photoshoot and I was glad I got the chance to shoot with Ryan Chua again! Definitely my favorite photographer to this day :)
Anyhow, we did a couple of looks for Charlotte Russe and this was the first one. This dress is perfect for a wedding! I could totally see this piece fit for a wedding of any season. Its deep blue color and lace pattern gives a classy eye-catching detail great for any red carpet event. With some strappy heels and a statement necklace and you're all set for a wedding or even a great night out! The fit and flare shape of this dress really accentuates your waistline and gives you a super womanly vibe :)

Love this statement necklace from Charlotte Russe :)

With this look, I went with really simple make up (bright pink lipstick for the ultimate girly look) and hair just because the dress had enough statement as is. If you are wearing more jewelry than I am, I would even recommend putting your hair up in a high bun to show off the pieces as well as the high neckline of the dress. And if you're going for more comfort- switch the heels out for a pair of simple flats for a girl next door look :)

Jumpsuits for Jewel

Happy Veterans Day everyone! My heart definitely goes out to all the amazing people we have that so selflessly gives back. Coincidently, it's also my mom's birthday today so my sisters and I all came home to spent the weekend with family. Happy Birthday Mama! 'Twas an awesome family reunion for us! :) I had a great time at home with everyone.
I finally found a jumpsuit (been looking for one for ages) this weekend that I love! Jumpsuits are definitely an old school thing making a comeback this season and I absolutely love how comfortable they are (except the going to the bathroom part haha). For me, it has been on my Want List since this summer & I was able to discover one on sale yesterday! I have a feeling this is going to be one of my favorite items this winter ;)
This particular one is from Pacsun and has a mesh tank with stretchy ankle cuffs so they can be worn as long pants or pulled up like how I'm wearing them here. Since it's a top and a bottom, it definitely saved me time from having to choose an entire outfit from my closet. All I really had to do was grab a light jacket amd some accessories and I was ready to go! I dressed this up with some statement pointy arrow earrings from Icings by Claire's, a super cute pair of booties, and a pleather/denim jacket (both from Charlotte Russe) with this piece to set off that cool motor chick vibe I was going for.  On a side note, the big bow in my hair was made by my sister: fishingforpi. She's so crafty!
I feel like jumpsuits are just so convenient and versatile! It could be dressed up for a glamorous night out on the town or down for a super chill lounge day! With sky high heels, a leather jacket, and some sparkly jewelry and you're ready for a night out. With some sneakers and a sports jacket or a letterman jacket- you're good to go for a relaxing day. Definitely a purchase well made :)

Love these statement earrings!

A Pop of Color

I love bold colors! Neon anything always stands out in a crowd and I love that pop of color for any outfit. It was one of those rare sunny days in San Francisco so of course I had to take advantage and dress nicely for the weather. Pops of bright pink, yellow, or green to any darker hues really brighten up my mood especially since it's Hump Day. And just on a side note, all the pieces in this outfit were under $15! :)
This neon knit sweater was sitting in the back of my closet begging to be taken out for a spin in the sun. I paired this with a simple circle skirt from Forever 21. And since it is San Francisco , I wanted to keep warm with these knee high socks that came in two pairs from H&M. For an added flare, I love these chevron laced booties from Charlotte Russe with the neon sweater- they were cute and super comfortable!

Love the print of this pullover!

Comfortable, chic, and affordable booties! :)

Menswear!

The selection of menswear button up shirts are definitely more diverse than women's- that's why sometimes I enjoy shopping in the men's (usually sale ;) ) section! I just feel like there is a lot more diversity & options to choose from.
I came across this comfy cotton button up from VANS and fell for the big, bold colors! Maroon and purple have really been catching my eye lately especially for the Fall season. Wanted to go comfortable for the weekend so I paired it with outside stitched leggings from 2020ave and an oversized tank from hurley with a black lace bandeau from Nordstrom Rack (great for brand name clothes at a discount price). Since we were wandering around and exploring the area, I opted for climbing and adventuring with combat boots! These ones are super durable, chic, and only around $20 at Marshalls! And to top it off (harhar) I threw a basic black beanie from F21on because as usual, I never know what to do with my not-long-not-short hair.
Anyhow, this look is perfect for venturing out to the middle of no where and for fun adventures whenever you're out and about! Happy wandering!

Aztec Bodycon Dress

Went to Davis this weekend to visit my sister and the weather was perfect there! I wanted to take the chance to shoot in nice weather before heading back to SF. This body con Aztec print dress from Urban Outfitters was perfect! It could definitely be easily dressed down or up with a pull over crew neck sweater with sandals or flats or dress it up with a pair of heels like what I did :)
I decided to do a more dressy look that could be for a date night or a special event! Since Winter is coming, I wanted to keep a leather jacket on for warmth and this gray one from Pink Stripes (San Jose Santana Row) was perfect! Paired with a pair of maroon heels from Forever 21 for a pop of color and a Aztec-y gold necklace I got from Taiwan a couple summers ago- you're all set for a night (or day) out!
Awesome location! Photos by Steph Pi (fishingforpi) Soua Moua (souamoua)!
