A Lace-y Monday.

It is the first Monday back to school and it is getting cold here in San Francisco! Supposedly, the temperatures are to drop starting Wednesday and I wanted to take advantage of this bright Monday. So, I used to think that shorts in winter were not my thing but I've definitely come to find that they're super wearable in any season. I am not sure why SF has such strange weather (sunny and freezing at the same time) but through time I have figured out how to dress for the seasons here- by layering up!
I wore this look two ways: with a scarf & beanie and with a statement necklace- either way would work! These velvet shorts Brandy Melville were a steal from when I went shopping on Black Friday and I loved that they were mid-rise with a petal cut on the side. Since it was Monday (I was a bit lazy) I simple white went with a high low quarter sleeve shirt from Zara (on clearance ~$10) and tucked it in on the side to show off my waistline. A light gray knit cardigan (similar one here) is the perfect color for winter and this particular one from Abercrombie is one of my favorites because of the long length and the large pockets!
With simple outfits like this, it's super easy to dress up! Under my shorts, I went with these lace-y, maroon tights from Urban Outfitters to give the overall look a warmer feel. As mentioned before, booties are totally my obsession right now and these ones from Charlotte Russe (mentioned before here) were again, perfect. I left the house like this but I brought a heavy knit, cream colored infinity scarf from Forever 21 with me just in case it got cold. And with this being said, since I am very afraid of the cold (but still a lover of SF) I packed an emergency black beanie (H&M Men's) in my gold chain purse that I also snagged during Black Friday (50% off!) from F21.
I had a bit more time than planned today (hooray) so I accessorized a little!
A gold statement necklace (from the night markets inTaiwan) because gold-toned colors always look amazing with maroon shades. The three gold rings I had on are from three different places. The one on my pinky is a permanent residence on my hand because it's from my mom :) The second midi-ring is from Charlotte Russe (of course, I had to throw in somethin' sparkly!) and the third giant jewel ring is from the store JYJZ in the Westfield SF.
Remember to keep warm & remember that it's still Cyber Monday til midnight! ;)

How do you guys like my rose gold nail polish? :)

A candid photo to end my Monday :)

Lacey Blues

It was a perfect Saturday afternoon in San Francisco. The weather was ideal for a photoshoot and I was glad I got the chance to shoot with Ryan Chua again! Definitely my favorite photographer to this day :)
Anyhow, we did a couple of looks for Charlotte Russe and this was the first one. This dress is perfect for a wedding! I could totally see this piece fit for a wedding of any season. Its deep blue color and lace pattern gives a classy eye-catching detail great for any red carpet event. With some strappy heels and a statement necklace and you're all set for a wedding or even a great night out! The fit and flare shape of this dress really accentuates your waistline and gives you a super womanly vibe :)

Love this statement necklace from Charlotte Russe :)

With this look, I went with really simple make up (bright pink lipstick for the ultimate girly look) and hair just because the dress had enough statement as is. If you are wearing more jewelry than I am, I would even recommend putting your hair up in a high bun to show off the pieces as well as the high neckline of the dress. And if you're going for more comfort- switch the heels out for a pair of simple flats for a girl next door look :)

I've got the Blues!

Dark blue, light blue, colbalt blue. What can I say? Seems that I've got the blues! Indian summer in San Francisco definitely passed by way too quickly but at least we had a week of sunshine :) This look was inspired by SF's own indian summer. Since it's (usually) windy and gloomy, I chose to go with different shades of blue (even my pants are a really dark blue) to showcase the weather of SF.
Here I'm wearing a lace crop top from nordstrom with a luckybrand light denim jacket to contrast the dark outfit. Pair it with a high waisted anything (I went with pants from brandymelville) and you've got yourself a great outfit for a nice dinner or drinks after work!
The triangle earrings, cross necklace, and strappy heels I'm wearing are all from charlotterusse! They have THE most perfect accessories for any occasion from casual to dressy!
& of course, photos by the awesome ryanbyryanchua :)
