Black Glitter

It is finally Thanksgiving break which means I'm home and so are all my best friends from high school. It's always an amazing time to catch up with old friends and it seems that every time we meet up, our lives have changed drastically. So for tonight's Ladies Night Out, I wanted to go a bit more dressy since we were doing a nice dinner. For some reason, I always go for all black on these occasions!
This black Brandy Melville dress has a very slight velvet feel but isn't exactly velvet. It is a soft cotton material and with a very feminine shape that shows off your waistline. I hesitated with outerwear and ended up grabbing this cotton moto jacket from Charlotte Russe. With these glitter polka dott tights from J. Crew Outlet, they definitely gave the outfit the warm holiday feel.  Knowing me, I need some type of bright color or sparkles to stand out ;)
As for my feet, it is getting quite cold in the East Bay so what better way to keep toasty than a pair of socks from Target? There is definitely room for a pop of color in this all black look for a pair of hot pink feet warmers! Slip on a pair of heels (also Charlotte Russe) and you're good to go! Love this look for a girls night out (like me tonight) or any fancy night out!

Velvety Goodness

So soft...perfect for the holiday season...what is it you ask? Why, of course it's velvet! I never would have thought velvet would make a comeback but hey, everything is about texture this season so why not! I'm slowly transitioning to winter wear and boy, am I excited! Winter is approaching quickly which means it's time to bundle up! With the start of Thanksgiving break this week, I wanted to post up an outfit that could be worn for a dinner party or an afternoon tea event!
I created this look around this American Apparel velvet skirt, I wanted to make it something different and not just pair it with a crop top or a t-shirt (though of course that's totally cute too). This button up from Abercrombie and Fitch has been sitting in my closet, untouched since last year and I thought it was time for its debut. Straying away from the typical lumberjack reds, this shirt had bright squares of green and blue in it to really contrast the skirt. Of course, what better way to pair a plaid shirt than with a denim jacket? This jacket from Lucky Brand has been featured before and it's definitely a closet favorite (my ultimate go-to jacket this Fall).
I've never been much of an accessories person, but I always try to add a little somethin' somethin' to my outfits whether it's earrings, necklace, or in this case- a belt! The belt is from Hollister&Co (on clearance!) and actually has silver zipper detailing & a double loop for a cute Western touch. These dark blue socks are actually thigh high socks (essentially you can pull them up so high they look like stockings) I just wanted them to appear as thigh highs so I tucked them in. It appears as though there are pulls in these Target socks which made them look super cool and vintage-y with the velvet texture! These brown booties (also featured before here) are from ShoeDazzle and I've been obsessed with these (& these black ones from Charlotte Russe here) since I've gotten them. They are comfortable, cozy, and my favorite shoes for Winter thus far.

Velvet & Plaid!

Chunky heels & awesome socks!

A Pop of Color

I love bold colors! Neon anything always stands out in a crowd and I love that pop of color for any outfit. It was one of those rare sunny days in San Francisco so of course I had to take advantage and dress nicely for the weather. Pops of bright pink, yellow, or green to any darker hues really brighten up my mood especially since it's Hump Day. And just on a side note, all the pieces in this outfit were under $15! :)
This neon knit sweater was sitting in the back of my closet begging to be taken out for a spin in the sun. I paired this with a simple circle skirt from Forever 21. And since it is San Francisco , I wanted to keep warm with these knee high socks that came in two pairs from H&M. For an added flare, I love these chevron laced booties from Charlotte Russe with the neon sweater- they were cute and super comfortable!

Love the print of this pullover!

Comfortable, chic, and affordable booties! :)
